The 58th Annual Meeting of the Canadian Society for Molecular Biosciences (CSMB, http://www.csmb-scbm.ca) will be held from Sunday, June 14, 2015 to Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at Dalhousie University in the bustling and picturesque port city of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.

This meeting is aimed at bringing together a diverse group of scientists with common interest in lipid function and characterization. We have two outstanding keynote speakers confirmed: Dr. Lukas Tamm (Virginia) and Dr. Andrea Ballabio (Telethon Institute of Genetics and Medicine, Italy). Six themed sessions will take place: Membrane Fusion, Lipid Droplets, Advanced Techniques, Intracellular Lipid Transport, Protein-Lipid Interactions and Lipid Metabolism.

Beyond an exciting slate of invited speakers, ample opportunities for contributed oral presentations will be provided in each of the 6 themed sessions. There will also be CSMB Awards Lectures, with Poster Sessions rounding out the scientific program. Travel awards are available for trainees, and prizes will be given for the best posters. These awards will be given out at our Banquet and Awards Presentation on Tuesday evening, providing everyone an opportunity to indulge in some mouth-watering Nova Scotian delicacies at historic Pier 21on the Halifax Harbourfront.

As an additional highlight, the journal Biochemistry and Cell Biology will publish a special issue devoted to the theme of this conference, featuring review articles and papers submitted by conference participants.

CSMB Meetings typically attract an informed and focused group of attendees from across Canada and beyond. Space limitations for the 2015 Meeting mean that registration will be capped at ~175, so please be sure to register early to avoid disappointment! We have worked hard to keep the meeting affordable and accessible, including provision of a range of accommodation options. Attendees who wish to experience Maritime hospitality should find it very easy to extend their stay.

We look forward to welcoming you in Halifax in June!
