52nd Annual Meeting of the Canadian Society for Biochemistry, Molecular and Cellular Biology
|
The theme of the 52nd Annual Meeting is “Protein Folding: Principles and Diseases” and will feature sessions on the Mechanisms of Protein Folding and Misfolding, Theoretical and Computational Approaches to Protein Folding, Protein Folding in the Cell, Protein Dynamics and Disorder, Cellular Responses to Protein Misfolding and Protein Misfolding in Aging and Disease. The objective of this Meeting is to apply mechanistic principles of protein folding and misfolding to protein misfolding disease models as a means to develop novel approaches to preventing or treating such diseases. Each session will contain multiple leaders in their areas from across America and Europe.
There will also be CSBMCB awards lectures and poster sessions with presentations by graduate students and postdoctoral fellows. Travel awards are available for trainees, and prizes will be given for the best posters. The journal Biochemistry and Cell Biology will publish a special issue devoted to the theme of this conference, featuring review articles and papers submitted by conference participants.
The five star White Oaks Conference Resort and Spa http://www.whiteoaksresort.com/
is located on the outskirts of Niagara-on-the Lake just off the Queen Elizabeth Way, about one hour’s drive from Toronto or Buffalo. The resort is completely non-smoking and features a superb fitness/sports club and spa. It is central to Niagara’s best wineries, golf courses, and hiking trails, and is very close to Niagara Falls with all its attractions. Sessions are held in the morning and evening, with afternoons left free to participate in other activities.
