Call for applications for appointments to the CSMB Trainee Committee

This is an open call for applications for appointments to the CSMB Trainee Committee. This committee reports to the CSMB Board. If you are a student or postdoc member of CSMB, we encourage you to apply. This is a great opportunity to get involved with a national organization.

Mandate:

Purpose of the CSMB Trainee Committee is to add value to the experience of trainee members of the CSMB by providing services and activities to benefit their careers.

Composition:

CSMB Trainee Representatives to the Board (Nafisa Jadavji, Bensun Fong), one Board member, along with at least three additional At-Large trainee members. We are currently looking for 3 At-Large members. A list of current trainee committee members can be found here.

Responsibilities:

  • To act as a liaison between trainee members and the CSMB Board.
  • To provide information to trainee members that are relevant to advancing their careers;
  • To organize activities to improve the quality of trainee member experiences (e.g. Slack community, webinars, student advocacy events);
  • To audit any committee-led activities and report back to the Board of Directors.

To apply, submit by email a copy of your CV and a brief (< 100 words) statement on your desire to be appointed to the CSMB Trainee Committee. The email should be addressed to the Committee Chair, Nafisa Jadavji, atnafisa.jadavji@mail.mcgill.ca

The application deadline is Friday February 15th, 2019, and appointments will be announced by early March.
To qualify, you must be a current CSMB member with up-to-date fees. Memberships for graduate students are $25/2 years and postdocs $50/2 years. We look forward to receiving your application!
