Each year the CSMB offers several Research Student and Postdoctoral awards. Details of these awards are provided below. Results will be announced at our Annual Scientific Meeting, with consideration of poster and travel awards conducted at the conference.
CSMB Trainee Travel Awards
This bursary fund is designed to encourage student & postdoctoral fellow participation in the annual meeting, by assisting to defray the cost of attending these meetings at distant locations. Up to ten awards, valued at $100 – $750 (depending on distance travelled) will be offered to attend the annual meeting. The awardee’s supervisor must be a member of CSMB. Here is information on how to join CSMB. If you register for the CSMB annual meeting, you will be automatically considered for these awards. The student or postdoctoral fellow must be the first author of an abstract submitted for presentation at the annual meeting. Travel bursaries will be presented to the respective winners at the conference banquet.
Travel awards for the 2020 Life Sciences Career Expo are also available from the CSMB. CSMB members who register for the meeting are automatically considered for travel awards.
Graduate Student and PDF Poster Competitions
The CSMB sponsors three annual awards for the best poster presentations given by a Society student members at the CSMB Annual Conference, designated for research in the categories of biochemistry/molecular biology, cellular biology and genetics. Participating students and PDFs will present their posters to a committee of judges selected by the Society. The monetary awards ($250 each) will be presented at the Annual Conference banquet.
